"Writer Kim Eun Sook is at present actively discussing the organization of a Friday-Saturday drama with us," Soompi quoted a representative from the cable network as saying.

While not much has been known about the said discussion, there was an initial report circulating on the web claiming that actor Kang Dong Won was reportedly offered to star in the said new drama. However, Kang's agency, YG Entertainment, was keen to deny the said reports and clarified that the actor has not received an offer to take part in a new show from the screenwriter.

TvN has also denied the reports by stating, "We haven't officially sent any offers to Kang Dong Won. Right now, there are lots of possibilities on the table, and that's all we know."

To date, the cable giant said that they will make an official announcement once the details have been confirmed. Kim, who brought the likes of "The Heirs" and "Lovers and Paris, have risen to stardom as a top notch drama writer, as the recently finished "Descendants of the Sun" have drawn more than 2.2 billion viewers across the globe.

The mega-hit TV series' recounts the love story develops between a surgeon, Dr. Kang Mo Yeon (Song Hye Kyo) and a Special Forces officer named Yoo Si Jin (Song Joong Ki), who learned to be considerate of each other's personal and professional struggles and sacrifices after both of them were stationed in the anecdotal war zone of Urk.

The melodrama has been well-received in Asian countries, most remarkably in Mainland China, Korea, and Hong Kong due to its unique melodramatic point in delineating a plot of romance, humanism, and justice. It aired on KBS2 beginning February 24 and recently concluded on April 14, Thursday.

Now, as a way to show their gratitude to all the viewers across the globe, KBS2 along with the cast and crew members of the show has decided to air a three-part special episode from April 20-22. The first two special episodes will kick off by airing a series of highlight cuts from the drama series and will complete off with an epilogue and the making-of clips, Asian Wiki has learned.
