"Tokyo Ghoul:re" chapter 74 is on the horizon, and in this chapter, Kaneki will have to make a hard decision of fighting his mentor Arima or die in his hands.

Last chapter, a brief flashback of Kaneki, known before as Haise Sasaki back in his days with the CCG, was being scolded by Arima for having such a soft spot for Ghouls. Back to the present, Arima told him that he knows now why he was very hesitant killing Ghouls.

As the two begin to clash, Kaneki does not feel like fighting his mentor at all and hates the circumstances. Despite Arima taking his eyes a few chapters back, he refuses to unleash his Kakuja which will probably even out the battlefield. As Kaneki continues to hold back, he finds himself missing his pair of legs which was severed by Arima.

Meanwhile, the chapter also involved the story between Mutsuki and Torso. Upon reading the chapter, fans were outraged by Torso's action as he continuously abused the helpless kid. Hence, fans over at Reddit made a shout-out to the manga's author, Sui Ishida, to give Torso the worst death possible in the series as they can no longer stand the horridness of Torso's actions.

Going back to Arima and Kaneki's fight, fans at Manga Helper are positive that Kaneki will get back on his feet and realize that he would not be able to fulfill his promise to Touka if he dies in Arima's hands. Thus, Kaneki will definitely reveal his Kakuja, which is expected to be extra powerful after eating a portion of the One-Eyed Ghoul.

Also, fans made some speculations on what his Kakuja will look like. User Qixus suggested that it will resemble a serpent from Norse Mythology called Jormungard. According to legends, it symbolizes salvation, death, vengeance, desire, corruption and rebirth, all which Kaneki has been through.

Some are also wondering why the author would chop off Kaneki's leg, which will surely hinder his mobility and chances to defeat Arima. Perhaps, this is just the author's way of showing Arima is the strongest being in the story, said user Demonspeed. Here is a review of the previous chapter courtesy of user LuffytheDragonSlayer.
