The new extended promo for CBS's "Person of Interest" (POI) Season 5 has been revealed.

The two-minute trailer has a lot to be excited about, particularly seeing how Shaw is portrayed. According to IGN, just as Sarah Shahi teased during POI's New York Comic Con panel, Shaw returns in the fifth installment in a very energetic way. The new trailer essentially focuses on how this season finale is interesting because of the gunfights and apocalyptic circumstances in future.

Fans should also get ready to have a test of some romance between their favorite pairing. During the announcement of season 5, showrunners Jonathan Nolan and Greg Plageman expressed their excitement for sharing the final season with fans. The two indicated that they would always be grateful to the amazing cast and crew, as well as their partners at the studio and network.

While it has been long since "POI" was aired, CBS has finally dished on what fans should expect when the sci-fi drama returns in May for season finale. Seemingly, the Season 5 will pick up from where the fourth installment ended.

According to the synopsis of season 5 premiere titled "B.S.O.D" via Cinema Blend, "Reese and Finch attempt to rescue the Machine's source code before it deteriorates beyond repair. Also, Root fights for her life against an onslaught of Samaritan's agents and Fusco is faced with hard questions following the deaths of Dominic and Elias, on the fifth season premiere of Person of Interest."

However, before turning to anything about the living tissue dying, the most significant storyline involves Jim Caviezel's Reese and Michael Emerson's Finch working hard to keep The Machine alive. In Season 4 finale, Samaritan's power surges severely weakened.

In addition, Fans should expect to see more of Kevin Chapman's Fusco who managed to survive through the end of "POI" season 4 without being killed by Samaritan, although this was not the case for Dominic, Elias, and Grice. After fans clamoring for a renewal of "POI" season 5, it emerged that the fifth installment will be the final one in the series.

"Person of Interest" season 5 will debut on CBS on May 3 at 10 p.m. ET. Watch the extended trailer below for more information.
