The Denver Broncos may have found a backup plan after their failed bid to lure San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick.

Reports have surfaced on Monday that the Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Sam Bradford demanded a trade out of Philly, sending alerts to NFL clubs in need of a QB.

According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, Bradford will no longer attend any off-season practices, which almost guarantees to see the 28-year-old playing for another team next season.

Bradford's agent Tom Condon confirmed on Sirius XM NFL radio that Bradford not only wants to be a starter QB, but be a "long-term" starter on another team, making the Broncos the likeliest landing spot having been without a bona fide starting quarterback following Peyton Manning's retirement and Brock Osweiler's departure to join the Houston Texans for a heftier paycheck.

Jason Parker of Sports Illustrated's Fansided believes Bradford is the right QB for the Super Bowl 50 winners, who have been in the hunt for a starting signal-caller for the 2016-2017 season.

"More importantly is that, on his worst day, Sam Bradford is light years better than Sanchez when it comes to playing the quarterback position. The Broncos are never going to fully replace the two quarterbacks no longer on the roster, but the drop will be a lot easier to deal with in Bradford is under center," Parker wrote.

Mike Klis of 9news in Denver reported that the Broncos have called for the availability of Bradford, but could not agree on a potential trade as the "asking price was too high."

Moreover, Eagles executive vice president Howie Roseman does not seem to be thrilled in making a trade, insisting that Bradford is the team's starting quarterback.

Meanwhile, there could also be a chance that Bradford reunite with 49ers coach Chip Kelly, who handled the Eagles and Bradford last season, according to Parker's other trade scenario.

Kaepernick, who has been linked with a trade to Denver following an unhappy season under ex-coach Jim Tomsula, is still considered a possible trade piece heading into draft night, with the Broncos remaining as his "logical suitor," reports Cam Inman of the San Jose Mercury News.

Acquiring Bradford would not only guarantee the 49ers a backup plan in case Kaepernick would really get traded, it would also provide Kelly someone he knew.

"Sam Bradford would provide the same type of quarterback that Kaepernick has been with the 49ers, so if they are the same type of player that Kelly wants, you might as well go with someone you know," Parker noted.
