Both the Nexus 5X and 6P have become more affordable than ever, selling for dirt cheap price of just $285 a pop that makes the Pure Android flagships of 2015 hard to resist. But even more tantalizing is the thought that with the Nexus deals galore, release date of the refresh, the Nexus 2016 series, looms large on the horizon.

BGR reported that retailers Amazon and B&H are pushing out the outgoing Nexus devices in a big way, cutting down the 5X sticker price to as low as $285 and the 6P retreating below the $400 mark. All the packages are sweetened by 1-year warranty and free shipping with the bonus promise of reaching a buyer's doorstep really quick.

For the Nexus 5X, the place to go to is Amazon where both the 16GB and 32GB are for grabs in SIM-free edition, which means that all devices for shipping will work on most U.S. and international network services. Of note too is the handsets are configured to work on Mobile Virtual Network Operators or MVNO, which only highlights Google's Project Fi.

The best 5X deal seen is for the White 16GB flavor that Amazon will send out with speed for only $284.95. Upsizing to the 32GB option will entail paying another $65, which for many would be the preferred pick as the device is without a microSD slot. That means no provision to extend the storage space when desired later.

Or vanilla Android fans can head over to B&H, which currently offers the Nexus 6P with a $50 discount plus a $50 gift card that is immediately applicable on a purchase. For all buyers, that automatically translate to $100 savings that applies for all storage configurations.

So the 16GB Nexus 6P is ready to deliver for only $399 while the 64GB and 128GB editions B&H will promptly ship for only $449 and $549, respectively.

By now, hardcore Android fans are fully aware that both the Nexus 5X and 6P boast of uncompromising hardware specs and beautiful design. In 6P's case, the build is not only bigger but more premium. And the best part, the handsets run on stock Android that packs two key benefits - the best Pure Android experience available and the assurance of getting consistent and up to date firmware support.

Now the other side of the ongoing Nexus deals is the likelihood of the next Nexus launch happening very soon. And it's not a remote possibility as Google is confirmed to stage its annual I/O gathering in middle of May, which many believed will reveal the finalized Android N and the first devices the mobile OS will power - the Nexus 2016 devices rumored to come from Huawei and HTC. Release date is said to come soon after the event.
