Apple is expected to reveal its MacBook Pro 2016 refresh at this year's WWDC edition that is scheduled to start June 13. While the most obvious feature upgrades are the use of Intel Skylake chip and the intro of OS X 10.12, rumors point to a number of interesting hardware bumps.

One solid upgrade would be on the graphic engine department and according to a Macworld report, it was recently a toss between NVDIA and AMD GPU but it was the latter that apparently won Apple's nod. It turned out that AMD's 14nm FinFET processor node proved more cost-efficient for the MacBook Pro supply chain while promising at the same time huge graphic processing jump from the previous models.

Macworld said that already "AMD set aside a GPU design for Apple, for its latest FinFET 14nm architecture graphics cards," so this is pretty much a shoo-in for the Pro 2016.

Now it would seem that Apple is seriously gearing up the MacBook Pro 2016 for higher performance gain but the sight remains trained on improved user experience, which in the case of using the butterfly keys first seen with the 12-inch MacBook 2015 will mean ease of use while delighting in incredible aesthetics.

Macworld is convinced that butterfly keys will be part of the Pro 2016 upgrade and that means a huge leap from the conventional key tapping on a laptop. "This innovative design improves stability, uniformity and control," Apple said of the butterfly mechanism, seemingly suggesting too that productivity is even more enjoyable with the next-generation MacBook Pros.

As for the immediate benefits that Intel Skylake will bring - the Mac will gather even more computing power than before while extending the working hours longer than usual is the promise tagged by Intel with its sixth-generation chip. And this will be realized in conjunction with the tweaks that will be deployed with OS X 10.12, which by the way is rumored to take on a new name - MacOS.

And if the recent leaks will prove accurate, the Mac's significantly enhanced operating system will borrow Siri from its iOS cousin, strongly suggesting that working on the MacBook Pro 2016 users can depend on some form of electronic assistance.

Analysts said that the MacBook Pro 2016 will come out before the current quarter ends, pointing to two likely scenarios - that the device will get introduced and released at the same time within the 2016 WWDC in June. Or the actual release date will follow soon, unpacking the MacBook Pro in 13-inch and 15-inch edition with Rose Gold as among the new color options.
