Scott Cawthon, the man behind the "Five Nights at Freddy's" horror video game series', is up to something and this time around, it looks like the creator is set to stay away from the established timeline and plot that fans have become used to.
The good news first came to light when a pseudonym user Monkeyzon took to the games' steam community forums in late 2015 and asked the creator whether he would make another horror title. Surprisingly, the 44-year-old game developer responded, by saying, "Yes, and I already have an idea for one."
Marking the start of the year, Cawthon started teasing an image of 17 vertical lines with a dim theme, which has all the earmarks of his new gruesome, horror project. However, the only clue in the graphic is its apparent lines with few letters' such as N and I, leading fans to speculate that it may be a darker take on his "Chipper And Sons Lumber Co." game title.
Now, the game developer finally sheds light on the matter by unveiling the whole picture of the secret artifact on Scott games' official website on April 24. The visual revealed the game's title, "Sister Location," that also contains a text, which reads, "There was never just one."
While not much has been said about the new game, speculation is rife that the upcoming "Sister Location" is a spin-off game of the popular "Five Nights at Freddy's" franchise. Recent rumors suggest that the new game is reportedly connected to the original series, but will take place in a different setting than its predecessors.
Furthermore, the new title is said to bring a horror-filled offering to the players across the globe, as it will vigorously concentrate on new evil animatronic dolls that are hell bent on wreaking havoc and murdering people. It has also been reported that the creator has been making efforts to bring fresh gameplay hooks in the game, including a first-person perspective that allows the player to experience the action through the eyes of the protagonist.
Nonetheless, few solid franchise fans hope that the forthcoming game will reveal at least one answer that may solve the looming question in the game franchise's lingering mysteries, including who precisely the Purple Man is.
