Ahead of the Apple 2016 WWDC, scheduled to kick off June 13, the MacBooks are getting huge price cuts that seems to indicate release date of the MacBook Pro 2016 is near. The 12-inch MacBook 2015 is discounted by up to $300 while the 13-inch MacBook Air is now up for grabs at its lowest price point - for only $799.

Dubbed by Apple Insider as Killer Deals, the MacBook price cutbacks on Amazon and B&H Photo rendered the OS X-powered laptop even more compelling even as rumors fire up that the fresh models are coming out in no time. The 12-inch MacBook on both retailers now starts at $999, from the original sticker of $1299, and buyers will get to tinker with device running on Intel Broadwell chip that spins at 1.1GHz with 8GB of RAM. The internal memory is 256GB.

There are higher configurations available but moving will mean paying more dollars or as high as $1549 for the MacBook in 1.3GHz/8GB/512GB configuration at B&H. Apple Insider noted that the same flavor is found on Amazon at a lower price of $1299 but the report reminded that buying from Amazon will mean paying the sales tax while B&H is tax free so long as the shipping destination is outside of New York.

As almost always the case, all items will ship out for free.

And the same applies to the 13-inch MacBook Air, which according to the same report is now at its lowest price level of $799. The specific MBA model in subject is listed by B&H in the following configuration: 1.6GHz/4GB/128GB. It offers discount of $200.

Take note that buyers can upsize to the 256GB model that carries a $250 discount, leaving the price tag at $949. All deals include warranty protection with options to extend the Apple Care coverage, which comes with a price.

As mentioned, any of the MacBooks are indeed tempting buys considering the significant price retreat in effect but the ongoing sales also signaled the imminent arrival of the MacBook Pro 2016. The device is thought to be more compelling as Intel Skylake is believed to be on-board, meaning more computing power and extended operating hours.

Speculations are widespread too that the new MacBook Pros will use the same design and build template of the 12-inch MacBook, which is saying that Apple will unbox an ultraportable and super-lightweight upgrade of last year's versions. And like the current MacBook, a Rose Gold MacBook Pro is likely to unpack this 2016.

It will be MacOS, which is the rebranded OS X 10.12, that will run the MacBook Pro 2016 show on release date and if the rumors will prove correct that will happen within or immediately after the Apple June 2016 WWDC event.
