Apple (NASDAQ: AAPL) has not officially unveiled the iPhone 7 yet, but fans are already waiting for the Cupertino-based company's next flagship phone to be released.  Leaks and speculations are already rampant.

There was a decline in Apple's income and revenue over the past quarter. It could be a sign that the company is starting to feel the pressure from global economic factors and the slowdown of the smartphone market.

Fortunately, the Apple iPhone 7 could be the answer to the company's woes. It has been reported that more fans are excited for the new flagship phone compared to the iPhone 6s.

UBS Evidence Lab has recently conducted a survey with more than 6,300 smartphone customers located in Japan, Germany, China, the United Kingdom and the United States. They found that the respondents' demand and interest for the new phone are both high, according to Bidness ETC.

The iPhone 7, which has not been unveiled yet, has beaten the interest levels for the iPhone 6s when it was launched last year. It means that there could be a larger number of people that would buy the new flagship smartphone from Apple compared to its predecessors' figures.

Fans have many reasons to get excited over the new phone from Apple. One of the rumors is that it will have a larger battery capacity compared to the previous models.

Another possible reason for fans to get excited or mad is that the iPhone 7 will reportedly ditch the standard headphone socket and use a Lightning port instead. Apple could also develop their own line of wireless headphones powered by Bluetooth.

With regards to size, the new phone could also be one of the thinnest models ever from the company. It could be one reason why some of the connectors will be replaced by smaller ones too.

The survey also found that nearly half of the respondents would wait until the iPhone 7 is released before they buy a new smartphone, according to BGR. It could also negatively impact Apple's current iPhone sales, which has been shown to be in a decline lately.

Unfortunately, the next smartphone from the iPad maker will not be sporting an OLED screen. It could take them one more year before they release their first smartphone with the new screen.

Apple could reveal the iPhone 7 at their Worldwide Developers Conference in June. More details could be unveiled and some of the speculations might be debunked or confirmed.
