Blizzard's Overwatch open beta has led to many happy players as it gets extend. In addition, Pornhub claimed that porn searches for the game had increased by over 800 percent.
The upcoming first-person shooter has already generated much hype for fans and new players alike. Blizzard has launched the Overwatch open beta in the past few days and the game developer is now extending it for one more day.
Besides all the shooting fun the game was responsible for, some players also had other ideas about the title. Popular porn website Pornhub has reported that there has been an 817 percent increase in Overwatch search terms for sexual videos and photos on their network.
The sudden spike was observed starting on the May 5 public beta. While the game itself hasn't been released for the final retail version, the community of players and artists have already created lewd images of the characters.
One of the most searched terms is "overwatch tracer" on Pornhub, VentureBeat has learned. The third most searched term is "overwatch futa."
Tracer the character has been controversial in the past few weeks. One of her poses in the game showed her rear which had angered some people to the point that Blizzard had to remove it from the game itself.
That did not stop the Internet from creating and uploading more Tracer-related porn and sexual images. One Tumblr page even has several photos and GIFs of Overwatch characters getting it on.
Pornhub said that Overwatch porn searches come from all over the world and not in just one particular region. This means that people from North America, the United Kingdom and various countries in Asia have tried to search for nudes or hentai renditions of the characters from the game.
Blizzard is also extending the event for players to enjoy another 24 hours of shooting each other, Forbes has reported. Players can still play the game on the Xbox One, PS4 and their PCs.
The Overwatch open beta will end on May 10 at 10:00 a.m. PDT across all regions. There is no more news on whether the game developer will extend it for another day or two, but the images and videos of porn for the game will continue to live on.
