In case this rumors turn out to be true, it will be a major release from Valve Corporation, particularly after co-developer Turtle Rock Studios denying any involvement with the game. The studios' founder, Phil Robb, said during an interview with Xbox Achievements that his company would not take part in the development of another installment in the "Left 4 Dead" franchise.

Robb said, "I think we're pretty much done with it. It's Valve's thing now. We've kind of gone off in our own direction. So I'd kinda like to see something new being done with it, and Valve always does great stuff, but it'd be cool to go back to it as just a fan and not a developer. But I doubt you'll see anything from us."

Meanwhile, other speculations have surfaced online suggesting that the two game developers are working together again for another sequel. The rumors began after Turtle Rock Studios posted a job listing on its official website. Based on the job listing, the game developer is soliciting for a new animation programmer to help them develop a new project.

Turtle Rock Studios have not given any specifics on the project under development. However, many fans believe that the animation programmer is meant for "Left 4 Dead 3."

Previously, there were reports that "Left 4 Dead 3" would be released in 2017. These rumors are yet to be confirmed by Turtle Rock Studios and Valve Corporation, but avid fans believe it will happen. Additionally, it is believed that the upcoming game will introduce new characters, including a female protagonist called Katherine.

For now, fans should take the information as mere rumors until there is official confirmation from the game developer. Watch the sneak peek below to have a glimpse of what "Left 4 Dead 3" will look like when it finally releases.
