Now that it is official that "American Horror Story" Season 6 will happen, a central question is how the upcoming will surpass the success of "AHS: Hotel." Latest information about the upcoming installment concerns the plot and characters that will make a comeback.

Since the series had already experimented on horror tropes such as a ghastly hotel, a haunted house, freak shows, serial killers and their offspring, voodoo, and witchcraft, avid fans are wondering what else will the show offer. The storyline of the upcoming sequel is still under wrap, but showrunner Ryan Murphy teased during the 2016 Paley Fest that children might be central to the arc.

The producer admitted during the panel that they are actually working on two concepts for the series now. Although they have not reached a consensus on the direction the show will take, Murphy said it would involve children.

Speaking via TV Line, the mega producer said, "If you look at horror tropes, the innocence of children, that sort of wide-eyed entryway into some world is always very dramatic and satisfying."

With regard to the location and the timing of the sixth installment, FX head John Landgraf said during the Television Critics Association winter press tour that the next season would be set in two periods, although it will incline more on the present. The success of "American Horror Story" is because of its amazing and exceptionally loyal, core group actors.

Murphy holds the same views as he told members of the cast during the panel that they are all welcome to return. In fact, it is difficult to imagine another sequel without O'Hare, Paulson, or Evan Peters.

While they do not know the exact roles they will be playing, Bassett, Lady Gaga, and Peters have officially been confirmed to come back. Further rumors indicate that Connie Britton might return, considering that "Nashville" has been canceled. Britton last features in the show's Season 1, playing troubled Vivien.

"Nashville" is so far averaging 1.8 rating in adults 18-49 and 6.7 million viewers overall in Nielsen's "live plus-7" approximates, according to Variety. The show consistently ranked third in the 10 p.m. hour, wasting a concrete lead-in from ABC's hit comedy lineup.

There is no official data set for "American Horror Story" Season 6. However, based on the previous seasons, fans can expect to see the show in October. Watch the footage below for details.
