Actor Shin Sung Rok, who starred as a villainous businessman in SBS' melodrama "My Love from the Star," will be tying the wedding knot with his non-celebrity girlfriend in June.

On May 25, Wednesday, Shin's agency, HB Entertainment, confirmed the good news through a statement released to the local news outlets. The press statement revealed that Shin's soon-to-be wife is an ordinary office worker in a regular company.

"He [Shin Sung Rok] will be getting married to a non-celebrity girlfriend mid-June," HB Entertainment's press statement reads obtained by All-Kpop. "It is difficult to say much more than that."

After meeting each other through a common acquaintance, the two soon turned from friends to lovers and have decided to finally make it official despite the short courtship. It was learned that the couple is planning to hold a private wedding ceremony in Hawaii with their families and closest friends.

Nonetheless, the entertainment label opted not to disclose any further details of the wedding, such as the MC, officiator, and nuptial singers and humbly requested the public to respect the privacy of the non-celebrity bride. It is said that the soon-to-be married couple is currently busy preparing for the most important event of their life.

The 33-year-old actor made his debut in the entertainment industry in mid-2003 and was cast in his first significant on-screen role in 2006's risqué cable drama called "Hyena." Supporting roles in numerous television dramas and movies followed since then, most notably in 2007's "Thank You" and 2013's "My Love from the Star."

In spite of stretching out into film and television, Shin is most popular and active in musical theatre. As a matter of fact, the actor is currently making a groundbreaking portrayal of French Captain Ladoux in Mata Hari at the Moulin Rouge musical, with a book by Ivan Mechell, music by Frank Wildhorn and lyrics by Jack Murphy.

The musical retells the real-life story of a Dutch-Frisian sex symbol, Mata Hari, who was executed by firing squad in France under the charges of espionage for Germany in the midst of the World War I. The musical recently commenced on March 29 at the Blue Square, Seoul, South Korea with a production directed by Jeff Calhoun.

"I feel more affection toward the stage (than TV)," said Shin, in a previous interview with The Korea Herald in 2007. "I think it is the stage where actors learn life and understand the meaning of acting... I think the core of my life will remain on the stage."
