In Season 2 finale, fans saw Barry Allen go back in time in an attempt to save his mother, Nora Allen. After several failed attempts in Season 1, Barry finally succeeded and stopped the Reverse-Flash from killing her. This changes the timeline and the relationship that Barry formed after the death of Nora.

In the meantime, "The Flash" actor Carlos Valdes has been talking about what's coming next in the series. Speaking at the panel at MegaCon, Valdes teased a "different" Season 3.

"All I'm going to tell you is things are going to be different, way different," Valdes said without revealing specific details (as quoted by Screenrant.) "Not in a bad way; I think in a really exciting way, and it's that difference that's going to inform Barry's trajectory throughout the season, and I think people are going to like it," he added.

Barry's decision to go back in time will lead to an alternate timeline, similar to the Flashpoint miniseries written by Geoff Johns. Thus, predicting what happens next is difficult. Valdes revealed that there is a great possibility for "The Flash" Season 3 to introduce Flashpoint storyline. It is that point in the timeline where Barry has no superpowers and the world is "filled with dark, twisted versions of the heroes and villains he knows."

Further, Tom Cavanaugh's return is certain. Entertainment Weekly confirms that the actor, who has played the role of Earth-1 Harrison Wells, Earth-2 Harrison Wells and The Reverse Flash, will return as a series regular. "The Flash" may bring back the original Wells in Season 3 if the Flashpoint storyline comes into play where Reverse-Flash never killed Earth-1 Harrison Wells and his wife.

Meanwhile, "The Flash" leading star Grant Gustin assured that the much-loved superhero will continue to maintain his optimistic attitude. During the red carpet at the CW Upfronts, the actor said that he will be adamant that whatever happens but the characters remains optimistic.

"Whole perspective on life is to constantly move forward with his life, and let his past be a part of it, but stay optimistic and kind of live your life," Gustin said as quoted by comicbook.com.

So when will "The Flash" Season 3 premiere? The CW is yet to make an official announcement. However, the schedules of the previous seasons suggest that the episode 1 will go on air in the first week of October 2016, possibly on Oct. 4.  Stay tuned for more spoilers and updates.
