Shingeki no Kyojin chapter 82 - After seeing dozens of Survey Corps members already lost in the battle of Shiganshina, the upcoming chapter apparently will feature the fall of one of the series' most endeared characters, Armin Artlert.

If the latest spoilers circulating in the Internet hold some credence, then Chapter 82 really doesn't bode well for one of the Shiganshina trio.

Remember, the previous chapter closed with Armin trying to wake up Eren atop the wall, trying to convey a plan that would turn the tables around in their battle against the Colossal and the reanimated Armored Titan. Unfortunately, little did everybody know that Armin was planning to sacrifice his life for their plan to materialize.

Armin, who has been with Eren and Mikasa since the start of the series, used himself as a decoy in order for Eren to strike at the back of the Colossal Titan's neck. Hisplan apparently worked, but at the expense of his own body which was severely burnt after taking Colossal Titan's piping hot steam head on.

Meanwhile, Mikasa, Jean, Sasha and Connie also made their move to cut down the Armored Titan anew. Due to using excessive energy to regenerate, Reiner Braun seemed to have suffered a bit of memory loss, thus giving the Survey Corps soldiers opportunity to execute their assault.

However, the Armored Titan soon shook off his little amnesia and resumed his mission of obliterating his former comrades. Sasha and Jean suffered grave injuries in their encounter with Reiner, who looked to have the upper-hand until Hange came out of nowhere and save the group.

Chapter 82 Prediction:

The story continues to get more and more interesting as the battle of Shiganshina about to reach its conclusion. Everybody knows Hanji Isayama won't think twice in killing off a major character, if he feels the time is due for him/her to go out of the story. But it certainly gives an incomplete feel if Armin, one of the most important characters in the series, to die without reaching his dream of seeing the world beyond the walls along with Eren and Mikasa. Some say he's dead already, but for me, he's not, at least not yet.

How can he escape death this time? I guess there's only one option left for him and that's to get injected with Titan serum which is currently in possession of captain Levi.

As for Reiner and Bertolt, I guess this is the end of the road for them. If Armin gets injected with the serum, he will likely have to eat either Reiner or Bertolt. By doing so, he will acquire their titan power and at the same time all the memories of the past. Perhaps, Armin will finally understand the motivation behind their mission of getting the coordinate from Eren and erase the citizen of the wall from the face of the Earth.
