Asus ZenFone 3 vs ZTE Axon 7: Which Android smartphone should you purchase? Specs, features compared (Photo : YouTube/ ASUS)
The Asus Zenfone 3 and ZTE Axon 7 were released in May 2016. Let's take a look at the specs of the two smartphones.
The ZTE Axon 7 features a 5.5-inch display with a resolution of 1,440 x 2,560 pixels. The Asus Zenfone 3, on the other hand, sports a 5.5-inch display with 1,080 x 1,920 pixel resolution.
The ZTE smartphone has a 3140 mAh battery, whereas the Asus smartphone has a 3,000 mAh battery. Both the devices will run on Android 6.0 M out of the box.
According to a report from BGR, the ZTE Axon 7 is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor. It will be available in two variants: one variant with 64 GB of storage and 4 GB of RAM and the other variant with 128 GB of storage and 6 GB of RAM. The two variants have a microSD card slot that users can use to expand the memory.
The Asus Zenfone 3, on the other hand, is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 chipset. Consumers can purchase the Asus device with 4 GB/3 GB of RAM and 64GB/32GB internal storage options. Also, the smartphone offers support for a microSD card.
According to a report from Digital Trends, the Asus Zenfone 3 sports an 8-megapixel front-facing camera and a 16-megapixel rear-facing camera. The Axon 7 sports an 8-megapixel selfie camera and a 20-megapixel primary shooter.
Both devices have a fingerprint scanner located at the rear of the smartphone. The ZTE device measures 5.98 x 2.95 x 0.34 inches and the Asus smartphone measures 6.01 x 3.05 x 0.30 inches.
The Asus smartphone weighs 155 grams and the ZTE Axon 7 weighs 185 grams.
The base model of the ZTE Axon 7 costs around $441 and the top variant costs about $624. The Asus Zenfone 3, on the other hand, costs about $249.
Furthermore, Taiwanese electronics company Asus has revealed the ZenFone 3 Ultra and ZenFone 3 Deluxe at its Zenvolution event. Some of the features of ZenFone 3 Deluxe include a 5.7-inch Super AMOLED screen, 6 GB of RAM, Snapdragon 820 processor, 23-megapixel primary shooter and an 8-megapixel front snapper.
Speculations are also doing the rounds that the ZenFone 3 Deluxe will have a more powerful version that runs on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 823 chipset.
