Kanye West and John Legend are really close friends but the singer noted that he strongly disagrees to the rapper's claims regarding the talent of Beck in a statement posted on Instagram.
The "All Of Me" hitmaker noted that West is his friend as the rapper believed in him years ago when he was not yet that famous and that he would not be in his position now without West's support but he stood firm with his statement saying that they do not agree on everything.
Aside from posting a photo of Beck's "Morning Phase" album that has won the award during the 57th Annual Grammys on Feb. 8, Sunday, Legend added that West running up to the stage was seen as something funny by many people who were in attendance as he might have just mimicked his infamous behavior years ago.
However, Legend said that his comments after the show as per the interview with E! News was what he disagreed mostly with as he noted that Beck is a true artist and a creative and a unique singer and songwriter.
"While his win may have been a surprise to many, it's not because he's not a great artist deserving of recognition," Legend added. "All of the other nominated artists, including Beyoncé, are incredible in their own right, and arguments could be made for any of them deserving to win."
Also, Legend pointed out that not everyone has voted for Beck but certainly a lot in the music business did. Legend noted that he respects the decision of the voters and continued to congratulate Beck on his accomplishment.
In another interview with US Weekly, Legend noted that he thought what West did was funny. He originally said that he thought West did not hurt anybody and that everyone just needs to relax if they felt upset and offended for what his pal did.
