Because “Descendants of the Sun” actor Song Joong-ki is the most popular actor now in China and South Korea, his face has become so familiar as people see his face on TV commercials, fashion magazines and social media sites.
However, the 30-year-old Hallyu star discovered he has a look-alike – a flight attendant at China Southern Airlines. In a Facebook fan page, Song Joong-ki asked his followers: “What can you say about this doppelganger?”
The doppleganger is Feng Ming, a 24-year-old cabin crew at China Southern Airlines, identified Soompi. The airline employee, who has been photographed helping passengers load their hand-carried bags in the plane’s overhead bin, is fast becoming popular.
He has been mistaken for Song Joong-ki, but even when passengers find out he is just a look-alike, they still have selfies taken with the handsome flight steward. Some passengers scream in delight, thinking it was the “Descendants of the Sun” actor whom they saw on the plane.
Others believe it is Song Joong-ki himself and post their “discovery” on social media, thinking perhaps the actor was shooting a scene wherein his role is a cabin crew. With his good looks, Feng Ming may himself be offered a showbiz career, banking on his similar features with the actor.
Knowing how some fans can be so biased, Song Joong-ki reminded them in the fan page, “Anywhere in this post, you won't find any conclusion that Feng Ming and Song Joongki resembles each other. We are asking for everyone concerned to state their opinion/s. Hope you'll understand that this is merely just for fun. Rude comments will immediately be deleted as it is for Feng Ming's or anyone's right as a human.”
The photo became viral with 4,800 likes. Angeli Jane Valencia commented that with Feng Ming around, she and friend Erica Mae Cabuyao need not fight over Soong Joong-ki because her friend could have Feng Ming for herself. Fresza France agreed, “Maybe with Feng Ming we have hopes (of having a handsome boyfriend).”
