Ahead of its scheduled release, "Destiny" developer Bungie accidentally leaked info last night regarding the "Rise of the Iron" installment. The information revealed that the upcoming expansion will only be available for PS4 and Xbox One consoles.

This may be a bad news for some fans who have bought the game on the last generation hardware. Although Bungie have tried to support most of the consoles, it came to this time they have to eliminate support for some as it was evident that the game was being hold back in a lot of areas, Attack of the Fan Boy reported. Aside from this, the leak also revealed information regarding the release date of the game on September 20.

Other information surrounding the DLC includes new area set on earth, new weapons, new forms of enemies and the comeback of its famous weapon Gjallahorn. It will be available if players have the game pre-ordered, Euro Gamer reported.

As described by the same report, Gjallahorn is an "over-powered" rocket launcher equipped with following cluster rockets. Since Bungie realized it was the players' favorite weapon, they did not upgrade the said essential in the second year which caused it to be eliminated in the favorites list. Now that an expansion is coming its way, the American video game developer decided to re-create the weapon by giving it a re-painted look.

Aside from the new items in the game, the comeback of Gjallahorn may be one of Bungie's ways to excite their long-time fans, but it is not clear this time how the removal of support for other game consoles would affect its sales. As of the moment, only time will tell how the new expansion would fare in September. Readers are advised to take all of this information with a grain of salt.

Full reveal of "Rise of Iron" is expected to happen 6 PM United Kingdom time. Meanwhile, access to the new Gjallahorn will start by September this year. Fans can already purchase the DLC at Destiny's official website.
