The concepts of high moral standards and family values stood out prominently in the closing days of the Year of the Horse, as President Xi Jinping leads China into its next phase of development.

In addition to the virtuous guidelines established by the producers of the CCTV's televised gala, an exhibition promoting family values was launched at the Chinese Museum of Women and Children, located in the Dongcheng District of the Chinese capital, on Tuesday.

The explicit intent of the exhibition is to display works that are inspired by the themes of inheritance and customary family practices. In light of its theme and purpose, the exhibition was praised by the All-China Women's Federation (ACWF) and expert researchers who work in the area of family customs.

There is actually a connection between China's women's federations and the exhibition, as the head of the Chinese Museum of Women and Children, Deng Li, is also a member of the Secretariat of the ACWF. Deng was responsible for opening the exhibition and delivered a speech on Tuesday.

The museum head spoke of the family values that form the foundation of Chinese culture, and the importance of displays like the exhibition in terms of the impact that profound art has on future generations. Deng was reaffirming the overriding sentiment of the exhibition, which seeks to encourage viewers to carry forward the ethos of Chinese morality and familial culture through its own example.

Deng added that socialism is also an integral part of the exhibition's values and said that she hopes that the museum event will exert a lasting impact upon Chinese families.

The exhibition will be open from Feb. 10 to March 31, and openings in other parts of the nation are scheduled for the future.
