In the upcoming episode of "Dragon Ball Super," it was said that Goku will be joined by Beerus in returning to Earth. This was after Bulma, who time travelled from the present, informed them that Trunks will be needing reinforcement to defeat a new enemy currently at the present time.
In a post by Reddit user Super, episode 48 is titled "Hope Again!! Trunks Awakens in the Present." The post described the synopsis of the upcoming episode in which it stated that as Trunks was studying with Pilaf, a time machine appears driven by a still undisclosed character. Basing on the previous reports regarding the upcoming events for the episode, the rider of this time machine is none other than Bulma.
Additional information from this post suggests that Goku will be heading back to Earth with Beerus in order to help future Trunks in defeating Black Goku.
A preview trailer for episode 48 was already released a few days ago. In the clip suggests that a beaten Trunks suddenly appears in present time. Calmed by Goku, Vegeta and Bulma, they assured that everything is all right and all is well in planet Earth, but Trunks revealed a new enemy is coming his way to destroy the peace it has right now, Game N Guide reported.
It can be recalled in episode 47 that Black Goku already appeared in the present while he was chasing for future trunks. Although the character running after Trunks was shown in the flash, reports suggest he is the Black Goku everyone has been talking about lately, Attack of the Fan Boy reported.
Part of episode 47 also showed how much time it took for Bulma and Future Trunks to collect enough fuel for the time machine. Upon travelling to Capsule Corporation, they were attacked by Black Goku and bombs the building. Trunks has no choice left but to save the Earth.
The episode ends with a confrontation between Black Goku and Trunks where the latter was attacked by the former when he was travelling with Mai. The match left Mai dead as she tried to help Trunks, and Trunks was left wounded as the episode concludes.
