Samsung might be planning to launch their new Galaxy Note 7 flagship phablet at their Galaxy Unpacked 2016 event on August as a new leaked image shows the invite for the said occasion.

There has been nothing but rumors and speculations regarding the upcoming Galaxy Note 6 or Galaxy Note 7. Users may finally be able to know whether it will have the fabled Samsung Iris scanner that will make the phone more secure and faster to unlock.

Fresh from the leaks mill is that the Iris scanner already has a supplier. That probably means that the rumors are all true and the wheels are already set in motion.

Samsung might be dealing with Korean imaging tech company Patron to supply the full load of Iris scanners for their Galaxy Note 7, Phone Arena has learned. One report says that Patron already won the bid several months ago even before the rumors of the new biometric scanner has come out.

There have been little bits of evidence supporting the claims for the scanner. One recent leak shows a screenshot from one Samsung phone's UI with the option to use the Iris technology.

Perhaps the specs and features will be finally revealed at the leaked Samsung Galaxy Unpacked 2016 invite. The image from SamMobile shows that the Galaxy Note 7 or the Galaxy Note 6 could be launched on August 2, TechTimes reported.

Besides the Iris scanner, there new phablet from the Korean tech giant has other impressive specs too like the 4000mAh battery and USB Type-C port. It is expected to carry the recently revealed 6GB LPDDR4 RAM and the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 823 processor together with the Adreno 530 GPU to power the 5.8-inch QHD Super AMOLED curved display screen with a pixel resolution of 2560 x 1440.

If the leaked image is true, Samsung will finally confirm or deny the specs of the Galaxy Note 7 at their upcoming Unpacked Event on August 2. They might also demonstrate how the Samsung Iris or Samsung Eyeprint technology works with the new phablet if they will be including the biometrics scanner in the device.
