In the previous episode, Kaetenay has disturbing visions of impending doom with far-reaching consequences. At the same time, Vanessa finds out a disturbing truth about Dr. Sweet. She confronts him about his real identity as Dracula.
Moving on to "Penny Dreadful" Season 3 finale. The network has released synopsis for episode 8 "Perpetual Night" on its official website. According to the description, Ethan, Sir Malcolm and Kaetenay return to London and witness strange occurrences.

Vanessa, Ethan's one true love, remains missing. As Ethan looks for her, he comes face to face with Dr. Sweet.
"Where is she?" Ethan asks Sweet in the video.
"If you truly love her, that would be enough for you," Sweet responds and Ethan points his gun at him. However, Sweet shows him his true power and tells him to leave her alone.
The third trailer teases the events of episode 8 and 9 and reveals what to expect from the finale. While Vanessa remains missing from the promo, we do get to hear her say: "And then all light will end and the world will live in darkness."
More spoilers suggest that Dr. Seward uncovers Renfield's secrets. As for Ethan, he searches for Dr. Frankenstein. And Lily learns more about her past as Brona Croft. She tells a heartrending story from her life as Brona.
