Things are now starting to get interesting as the recent events in "Fairy Tail" chapter 490 signify that the war is now nearing its climax. Zeref and Mavis are now face to face against each other and it would be interesting to see if he will be able to take the Fairy Heart from Fairy Tail's first guild leader.
The recent chapter is now out courtesy of Manga Mint. In this chapter, Mavis finally regained her consciousness and as she looked for the other Fairy Tail guild members, she only found a familiar face in the hall, Zeref.
Natsu and Lucy finally regained consciousness and apparently, Natsu was able to deflect some of August's magic which turns out to be composed of heat. They found themselves in a totally different landscape and they also noticed that the establishments in Fiore had been rearranged.
Meanwhile, other Fairy Tail members also found themselves clueless on how they ended up in such a place. The bulk of the guild found themselves right beside the Alvarez Empire army as they get ready to engage the opposing forces.
Erza, Gray and Juvia were also at a lost in the new terrain while Irene, the one who caused all of this, was transported to a castle. According to the enchantress, the purpose of this is to bring Zeref closer to the Fairy Heart while avoiding further conflict.
Also, it turned out that Gajeel survived despite the effects of Etherion. Then, a mysterious entity appeared in front of him and it appeared to be Zera, Mavis' imaginary friend as she introduced herself as the Fairy of Origin.
In the next chapter, fans over at Reddit believe that Mavis and Zeref will engage in battle, with the first showcasing her arsenal of magic. Also, Acnologia will be infuriated with Irene and will try to look for her to settle the score. Meanwhile, Zera will explain to Gajeel what happened and says she had something to do about his survival.
Also, August will come to his senses and realize how terrible it will be if Zeref's plan pushes through. Here is a review of the recently released chapter.
