Microsoft's success in the Surface family of devices has triggered the innovation of yet another Surface gadget expected to join the market in 2017. The only disparity lies with the fact that the new device is not a notebook like the others, but, rather, a phone labelled as Microsoft Surface Phone.

The device has become a hit recently particularly because of the expected superiority in both its design and specifications. According to New Independent, the Surface Phone will come with various enhancements and variants.

The basic version will carry 4GB of RAM along with 64GB of storage whereas the Advanced Edition will sport 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. Lastly, the high-end Surface Phone Pro Edition is expected to include a massive 8GB of RAM and 512GB of storage, pushing the limits of mobile performance to match with those of laptops and tablets.

According to the Country Caller, Leaked images confirm that the Phone may sport a 21MP Carl Zeiss back camera and an equally powerful 10MP front camera. Additionally, the Surface Phone will exploit a built-in QWERTY keyboard and a kickstand similar to the one found on Surface Pro tablets.

Other speculations mention that Microsoft's next generation Phone will be driven by the latest Intel Laby Lake chipset, taking full advantage of the Windows 10 Mobile Platform.  As such, the surface Phone will make use of fresh features like Continuum, which will ensure the device's usability as a full-blown computer.

Many of the Surface Phone features are still speculations since no valid details have leaked from Microsoft hitherto, although rumors point out that the device will exploit Qualcomm's Snapdragon 830 processor, which is yet to come out. For the same reason, the phone will have a late launch in 2017 along with the Surface Pro 5 tablet.

The Surface Phone is believed to be under development under the codename Juggernaut Alpha. If comes to fruition, it will become the first handset to utilize a 10nm mobile processor.

With the likelihood of Microsoft Surface Phone, Mobile analysts predict that Microsoft will bounce back in the market even after the poor performance of Microsoft Lumia Phones.
