The former Beatles member Paul McCartney serenaded the audience at Irving Plaza on Valentine's Day. A day after, he did the same thing as he was one of the musical guests for the celebration of "Saturday Night Live" 40th anniversary.

The singer performed songs about love during the Irving Plaza concert and according to NYTimes, he even dedicated a song to his wife called "My Valentine," which was a song from his 2012 album called "Kisses on the Bottom". Red confetti petals then showered the audience and it was said to be the big production number of the sold-out concert for Valentine's.

The concert has lasted for around 100 minutes and most of his songs were from his world tour last year and the songs from the 1950s. He sang songs that were from every decade of his career and even sang "New," which was from his 2013 album.

For his "SNL" performance, McCartney sang Beatles song that was from the 1960s and the crowd definitely enjoyed it. He also had an impromptu performance as he shared the stage with Paul Simon. The two performed an impromptu duet of the Beatles' song entitled "I've Just Seen A Face."

According to Rolling Stones, aside from McCartney taking on the stage, Miley Cyrus also performed for the event as the festivities continued. She paid tribute to Simon by singing "50 Ways To Leave Your Lover". She was reportedly able to bring out the inner diva as she wowed the crowd with her powerful voice.

As for Simon, he performed a rendition of the song "Still Crazy After All These Years" with an accompaniment from Lenny Pickett's saxophone.

The "SNL" 40 celebration was mainly about music as Justin Timberlake and Jimmy Fallon opened the night with a song and dance number. They channeled different catchphrases from the show throughout the years. Kanye West also performed songs such as "Wolves" and "Only One."
