Juventus star Paul Pogba's acquisition will cost cash-rich Premier League side Manchester United a mind-blowing £120 million, which would smash the current world transfer record, according to football expert Tancredi Palmeri.

In a recent radio interview, the Italian journalist disclosed that according to his sources, Pogba's "whole package", excluding his incoming wages and bonuses, will reach up to €145 million, which translates into about £120 million in fees.

Palmeri noted that Juventus will get €120 million while Pogba will personally receive "20% of the selling fee" with his agent, Mino Raiola, taking €25 million in "personal commission".

However, the journalist explained that the deal is not done at the moment, saying that "there is not a yes or no at this moment - it is all about convincing Juventus. Juventus still haven't been convinced," as per talkSPORT.

"The (Juventus) president's real obsession is bringing back the Champions League. He is completely obsessed and thinking 'maybe one year more and we can do it'. He has to be convinced, although he won't get a better price than that," Palmeri said.

"This offer will be brought to Juve - not by (Manchester United's executive vice-chairman) Ed Woodward or a delegate - but his agent Raiola. When a club is finding a deal with an agent like this, it's always a good thing," he added.

Caught Offside affirmed the report, saying that "despite United being prepared to break the transfer fee record, Juventus may decide to keep hold of their star man".

The 23-year-old France international is coming off a tour of duty with his national squad during the 2016 UEFA European Championship where they fell short of the title, finishing as runners-up to Cristiano Ronaldo's Portugal team.

Pogba has helped lead the Old Lady to four straight Italian top flight titles throughout his so far four-season stay in Turin, which includes two Supercoppa Italiana wins, two Coppa Italia crowns, and a runner-up finish in the UEFA Champions League during the 2014-2015 season.

The 6-foot-3 Lagny-sur-Marne, France native had appeared in a total of 178 games in is four years with Juve, scoring 34 goals in the said time span. He joined Juve via a free transfer in the summer of 2012 from Manchester United, which had created much controversy during the term of then Red Devils manager Sir Alex Ferguson.
