Motorola's Moto Z Play has not been revealed yet officially by the company but several leaks are providing information on what the phone's specs and features could be.
One of the recent leaks is that the Moto Z Play could still have a 3.5mm headphone jack as one photo shows. Apple may seem to be ditching the standard headphone jack for their upcoming iPhone 7 smartphone but Motorola and Lenovo may not follow through with the earlier rumors of removing it from their upcoming Moto Z Play Android smartphone.
The new leaked photo shows the Moto Z Play with a 3.5mm headphone jack in between the Moto Z and Moto Z Force both of which only have a USB-C port on the bottom, SlashGear has learned. The jack could have been put there to reduce the overall manufacturing costs of the Moto Z Play which could lead to the conclusion that it would be cheaper than some of its predecessors.
Another reason for the 3.5mm jack could be that there is really no difference in quality with regards to the Lightning port's audio and the standard one. In addition, more people still use headphones and earphones with the standard connector.
Based on the leaked photo, the Moto Z Play also seems to be thicker than the Moto Z Force and the Moto Z. It looks to be thicker by several millimeters and it's not really noticeable at first glance.
Motorola's Moto Z Play is rumored to have a 5.5-inch 1080p screen and powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 with an octa-core processor, 9 to 5 Google reported. It is also expected to launch in two variants of 2GB RAM with 16GB storage and 3GB RAM with 32GB storage.
Users may want to wait for the Moto Z Play as it also features a larger 3500mAh battery which could easily last more than a day under normal use. The rear camera with 13 megapixels could also provide quality photos.
Motorola and Lenovo have not yet announced when the Moto Z Play will actually be out or how much it will cost. The lack of official announcements could mean that the device is still in the earlier stages of production.
