"Bones" Season 11 finale is expected to feature a massive cliffhanger and see Brennan in danger. Reports suggest that episode 22 will set up Season 12, which happens to be the series finale. "Bones" Season 12 will be the last time Jeffersonian team will come together to fight crime and criminals. Recently, a teaser poster for the upcoming San Diego Comic-Con was posted online. It gives the first look at the Emily Deschanel (Brennan) and David Boreanaz (Booth) starrer twelfth season. As posted on TV Line, the poster shows Brennan and Booth holding a magnifying glass that gives us a look at their skull. And the caption reads: "Nearly Departed."

According to the website "Bones" Season 12 will be shorter than usual and feature only 12 episodes. However, the Fox co-chairmen Dana Walden and Gary Newman promise fans a "meaningful and satisfying conclusion." Also, the show is expected to bring back Eric Millegan's character Zack, who was last seen in Season 4.

Meanwhile, "Bones" Season 11 finale will lay the foundation of Season 12 premiere. It will reintroduce the villain, a serial killer, also known as The Puppeteer. He was first seen in "The Monster in the Closet" and revealed as a serial killer who lives with the corpses of his victims.

Episode 22 "The Nightmare in the Nightmare" will see the team search for the serial killer and put an end to the brutality. Soon the team will realise that the serial killer is actually after Brennan. Scroll down to watch the promo trailer teasing events of the Season 11 finale.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, "Bones" executive producer Jonathan Collier revealed that Season 11 finale will end with a cliffhanger and a key character is threatened.

In addition, the EP told E! Online that the new villain may have something to do with Season 1.

"I guarantee that no one will guess who it is still, but it all makes sense and I'm so happy to be dealing with this. I'm so happy to be laying this out and plotting it and it really carries us to an exciting and impactful place." Collier teased.

So when will "Bones" Season 12 premiere? While the network is yet to reveal the official date, it is certain that episode 1 will go on air at midseason, in 2017. So, stay tuned, more spoilers and updates are expected soon.
