While everyone is busy trying to snatch up an RX 480 or a GTX 1060, TechARP spotted the new AMD Radeon RX 460 in action supposedly powering an Oculus Rift VR demo.

There is also a store in India named MD Computers that has revealed the Radeon RX 460 release date which is set to be on July 28 and will be available in 2GB and 4GB models. The RX 460 has also been spotted in a recent AMD Polaris launch event in Malaysia which shows the card in action with just a small cooler.

Some budget-conscious PC gamers still cannot afford the $199 price tag of the RX 480 and they are now waiting for the $99 RX 460. TechARP was able to spot a working version of the Radeon RX 460 card which was reportedly used for an Oculus Rift VR demo which suggests that it can still be used for VR, PCPer has learned.

The Radeon RX 460 specs include the Polaris 11 GPU, 14 Compute Units and 2GB of GDDR5 memory through the 128-bit memory bus. However, the MD Computers Facebook page in India has shown that they will also be selling an 8GB model of the card which could run around the $120 price range.

AMD has been marketing the Radeon RX 460 for eSports games such as DOTA 2 and League of Legends. The RX 460 has already been tested against the R7 260X on 1080p and it was found that the former performed 1.7x faster than the latter in both MOBA games, TechFrag reported.

The size of the card is also one huge factor for some PC builders who are setting up a mini ITX rig. AMD's Radeon RX 460 supports a Display Port 1.3 and 1.4 HDR port as well as an HDMI and DVI port.

Due to the low TDP rating of just 75W, the RX 460 does not even need a power connector and can just draw power from the PCIE slot itself. It makes for the best budget PC gaming build so far.

AMD is expected to release the Radeon RX 460 on July 28 if the computer store's post is to be believed. It could also be used for VR experiences using the Oculus Rift and the HTC Vive.
