With many Pokémon GO players catching nearly all the available pocket monsters out there, the focus now seems to shift on hunting the rarest of the Pokémon, most of which are known as Legendaries. Of the 151 animals on the loose, nine are thought to be the hardest to find.

But thanks to the latest reports from BGR and Kotaku, players can get know bits of info on these rare Pokémon and perhaps get some hints on where and when to catch them all:

Farfetch'd, Kangshakhan and Mr. Mime

Of the nine on the list, three are unlikely to be widely available, according to BGR, because these pocket monsters can only be found on specific regions, where of course players will be able to collect them. Farfetch'd, for instance, is exclusive to players located in Asia while Kangshakhan will mostly hang around down under - Australia.

Players looking to get a piece of Mr. Mime will need to fly all the way to Europe, where the Mon is largely based.

Now for North American players, the following six pocket monsters are available (if they can be found):

Articuno

This Pokémon bird has the ability to generate and control ice. There's got to be snow when Articuno is around so those on hunt must take note of the hint.

Ditto

Ditto is a Pokémon of multiple shapes and its rarity is compensated by its biggest selling point when added to a player's roster - the ability to breed with all sorts of Mons, spawn Eggs and multiply.

Mew

All players would want a Mew as having one is like enjoying all Pokémon in one package as according to BGR: "Mew is said to possess the genetic composition of all Pokémon." And the Mon's ability to become invisible could potentially translate into a player's near invincibility during battles.

MewTwo

But if the emphasis is to score a sure win in a battle then the go-to Pokémon is MewTwo. Kotaku's description of the Mon should prove sufficient: "It is said to have the most savage heart among all Pokémon, lack compassion, and strike fear into its enemy with cold, glowing eyes. Because it was engineered to be the ultimate in battle, it can only think of defeating its foes."

Moltres

Considered as among the Legendaries, the bird-type Pokémon Moltres flourishes when there is fire. When damaged following a duel, Moltres will need to take a plunge on scalding magma and emerge all healed and refreshed.

Zapdos

Electricity makes Zapdos even more powerful and when fighting, the Mon hit by a lightning will certainly increase the chance of winning.

To date, the search is still on for these rare and Legendaries Pokémon but Kotaku seems convinced that soon enough Niantic Labs, developer of Pokémon GO, will host a big event that would allow players to spot and trap such treasure of pocket monsters.
