The worldwide phenomenon, Rovio-developed mobile game “Angry Birds” has invaded the Chinese gaming market, reaching a total of half a billion downloads, Reuters reported on Thursday.

Taking advantage of this obsession, the Finland-based game developer announced its plans to adapt to and tailor the game's features to the Chinese culture through a partnership with Beijing Kunlun.

In Nov. 2014, the company confirmed that it will be launching up to nine "Angry Birds" theme parks within four years.

In a November-issued press release, Pekka Rantala, Rovio Entertainment's Chief Commercial Officer, said how vital China is in their market strategic plans.

"China is an extremely important market for us and we're constantly looking for ways to provide innovative fan experiences by bridging the digital with the physical," said the CCO.

"Through this partnership, we not only achieve that, but we set a strong foot in one of the world's fastest growing theme ark markets with a key layer in the industry," Rantala added.

"We are delighted at the prospect of bringing Angry Birds closer to our fans in China, in spaces where all members of the family can engage," the CCO further enthused.

Rantala also pointed out that China also has a mobile games industry that is "growing at a very significant pace."

In November, Rovio also announced that it has partnered with Chinese e-commerce company Alibaba to feature its game's next installment, "Angry Birds: Stella," in three different mobile applications.

The "Angry Birds," which was initially launched in 2009, gave Rovio millions of revenue. The firm was founded in 2003.
