Thanks to ongoing back-to-school promo deals, the 13-inch MacBook Air is now ready to ship out for only $799 while the 2015 version of the 12-inch MacBook is down to $999 and the packages also include freebies. One big sign that Apple's authorized resellers are preparing for the arrival of new MacBooks is the huge discounts now seen on the existing models. The 2015 12-inch MacBook, for instance, is down to $999 due to the $550 price off coming from B&H. The deal, according to Apple Insider, is bundled with Parallels 11 application that is worth around $70, which should give buyers more than $600 in total savings.

The MacBook that B&H will ship out for free boasts of 1.3GHz/8GB/256GB configuration and in Space Gray finish. Apple Insider said that the B&H deal is the lowest price seen so far involving the 12-inch MacBook 2015.

But priced even lower is the 13-inch MacBook Air 2015 edition, which when picked up from Adorama will sell for only $799 with buyers getting the 1.6GHz/4GB/128GB configuration. Adorama has already chopped $200 off the current mark but with Parallels 11 also thrown into the mix, the total savings amount to nearly $300.

And as always the case, the package will be delivered free of charge and the tax sales waived for destinations outside of New York and New Jersey, Apple Insider noted on its report.

Now these are indeed tempting MacBook deals but what could turn out more irresistible is the likelihood of an approaching rollout of the MacBook Pro 2016, which according to analysts will hit the market anytime in the last quarter of the year.

Apple has already revealed that Macs will soon be powered by MacOS Sierra and speculations are rife that Intel Skylake will be the main engine. But recently reports have emerged that Intel is ready to deliver en masse its seventh-generation processing chip called Kaby Lake, sparking rumors that from Skylake the MBP 2016 will jump to Kaby Lake.

Kaby Lake is supposed packed with more CPU and GPU punches while keeping a tight lid on power user so it makes sense that Apple will pick the newer chip architecture over Skylake.

On release date, which could happen as early as October this year, the MacBook Pro 2016 is said to unbox in slimmer and lighter profile and bannered by key feature upgrades such as OLED function keys, Siri for Mac and Touch ID remote unlocking.
