"How To Get Away With Murder" Season 3 is on the way. "Dexter" alum Luna Velez is hopping in to join the cast as Annalise Keating's (Viola Davis) new boss and president of Middleton University. The new season is also getting a different storyline from the previous seasons.

Velez's character has not been named yet, but it is described as a "self-assured, friendly, warm, and diplomatic." It is yet to be seen if Velez's character will remain in the good side as there are speculations that she could turn as one of the "How To Get Away With Murder" Season 3's villains.

Velez's credits include "Ugly Betty," "Law & Order: SVU," and "Elementary." The casting news came after Conrad Ricamora was promoted as a series regular ahead of Season 3.

Two weeks ago, Davis confirmed that shooting has begun for "How To Get Away With Murder" Season 3 through her Instagram. She posed for a photo with other cast, including Jack Falahee, Alfred Enoch, Karla Souza, Matt McGorry and Liza Weil.

The series' showrunner Peter Nowalk also shared a scene in the courtroom showing Keating and the Keating 5. The new season is reportedly featuring a case-of-the-week format instead of the usual legal drama storylines.

A lot of changes and surprises are coming in "How To Get Away With Murder" Season 3. Nowalk earlier teased that the new season will be running a different plotline than the previous seasons.

"I like switching it up, honestly," Nowalk told TV Line. "I don't want the show to become stale. In the back half of season 2, we had so much emphasis on Rose's case that there wasn't room for cases of the week. We'll probably try to do a balance."

Season 2 wrapped up with a major cliffhanger where Wes (Enoch) provoked his biological father Wallace Mahoney (Adam Arkin) only to find out that the latter would be shot in the head. In a different interview, Nowalk hinted that the identity of the killer could be revealed in the first part of "How To Get Away With Murder" Season 3.

"There are two options for me," Nowalk told Variety. "It's either in the first minute in the show, or that's a longer mystery because it's a more complicated story."
