Exciting things are in store in the upcoming "The Walking Dead" Season 7. Jeffrey Dean Morgan, who plays Negan, has spoken about what lies ahead for his character and how the leather-clad lunatic villain dramatically shakes up the show.
In a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, Morgan teased that the upcoming Season 7 premiere of the hit AMC show will feature a surprising twist. The 50-year-old actor added that it will be a whole new beginning for "The Walking Dead" world, stating that the Saviors have finally taken the TV show and just flipped it upside down.
"It's f-----g Negan's world now," said Morgan. "What you're going to see in the first half of this season is Negan wreaking havoc, and some of your characters that you've grown to love are not going to be on the show anymore and it is going to end badly for them."
Morgan then warned fans that the upcoming new season of the AMC series will see their most loved characters in a position that they have never been in before. He described it as super vulnerable and victimized.
Avid viewers of AMC's post-apocalyptic TV series may recall that "The Walking Dead" Season 6 finale saw the arrival of the show's biggest villain ever alongside his barbed-wire bat called Lucille. The finale aired on April 3.
The 65-minute episode ended on quite the dramatic note that left fans with their jaws dropped, as Rick's (Andrew Lincoln) group was last seen lining up before the villain taking a lethal swing at one of them using his infamous bat. The identity of the victim was not revealed as the assault was shown from the perspective of the character.
Hence, several speculations suggest that Michonne (Danai Gurira) could be Negan's victim to fuel more anger and inflict more pain on Rick and his group. During "The Walking Dead" panel at San Diego Comic-Con, Andrew Lincoln, 42, stated that his encounter with Negan will apparently leave Rick a changed man.
"He's powerless for the first time since he woke up from the coma," Digital Spy quoted Lincoln as saying. "Everything he's worked for, for two years, has been shattered in 24 hours. So he's not in a good space and I think if he makes it through the first episode, then he's different. He'll be a different man."
