A number of Republicans are not happy with "American Sniper" star Bradley Cooper. It turns out that the actor who is famous for playing Navy Seal Chris Kyle is pro-Hillary Clinton.

Shortly after the 41-year-old was spotted on National TV with model girlfriend Irina Shayk in the said convention, Twitter erupted with tweets from angry fans. Some users are urging the boycott of Cooper's films.

One of those who took the criticism of Cooper to Twitter wrote, "Bradley Cooper, how could you POSSIBLY play the hero Chris Kyle so well and then surround yourself w/anti-Americans?"

On the other hand, there are some who sympathized with Cooper and some rushed to his defense. Fellow actor and comedian Josh Gad, who is known for voicing Chuck in "The Angry Birds Movie," addressed the angry "American Sniper" fans on Twitter, as per Hollywood Reporter.

For those who are made that the Cooper attended the DNC in Philadelphia because of the movie "American Sniper," Gad suggested "imagining him as Rocket Raccoon."

Meanwhile, there are those who think that his support for the Democrats should not be associated with the roles that he has played on the big screen.

Lastly, there are also Twitter users who hopped in the Twitter bandwagon but neither attacked Cooper or defend him. For example, one user wrote, "Some are mad Bradley Cooper went to DNC after portraying Chris Kyle. I get it, I'm still furious Johnny Depp doesn't travel via pirate ship."

Needless to say that there are those who think that those fans may just be overreacting.

Nevertheless, Cooper is also known to have some notable political involvements. He is said to have given financial support during Clinton's 2008 campaign. In addition, he openly supports Obamacare and President Obama's gun control initiatives.

"American Sniper" in 2014 was a major blockbuster that got Bradley Cooper, who was born and raised in Philadelpnia, an Oscar Nomination.

At the moment, it is safest to conclude that the actor is simply a person, regardless of the role he played in his movies, who has every right to have a political stand.
