There have been speculations that the upcoming episode of "Dragon Ball Super" will feature an alliance between Omni King and Son Goku will be formed. This was after the episode preview showed the appearance of the said powerful being.
Episode 54 featured Trunks' training with his father Vegeta on the lake near Capsule Corporation. In the first few hours, the Saiayan Prince was a bit disappointed with his son. Although Trunks was imagining himself fighting Black Goku, he cannot picture he would out power the nemesis.
On the other hand, Pilaf was seen trying to fix the time machine, which Bulma have tried fixing for quite some time already. He manages to improve the machine's system and Bulma was impressed with what he did. Bulma then wonders who he really is but Pilaf insisted he is just an ordinary person.
Meanwhile, Goku, Beerus and Whis argued their travel way back to Earth. Despite these, the comrades agreed that Black Goku and Zamasu's ki are similar, making them speculate Zamasu shape shifts to transform as Black. But Goku said the latter's personality is not that as evil as they think.
In universe 10, Gowasu and Zamasu had a bit of discussion about the use of time rings. The former explained to his student that time rings are only used to travel to and from the future but is strictly forbidden to travel back in the past. They decided to go forward in future, but since only Kaioshins are allowed to use the time ring, Gowasa promotes his apprentice to one.
Back to Trunks' training, Vegeta is still disappointed with how his son is faring during training. Meanwhile, Trunks is thinking he is not needed to defeat Black since he can see Son Goku and his father can defeat the villain alone.
Shifting to Beerus' planet, while Whis was preparing dinner, a call suddenly comes over which was answered by Beerus. He was shocked to see it was the Omni-King who said his intention is to meet up with Goku.
According to a discussion thread posted at Kazenshuu, the episode preview is "Hey, this is Goku! The Omni-King is calling for me? I was about to head off to the future, but I guess I got no choice! Hey Beerus, Kaioshin, what's that look for? The Omni-King just wants to have a chat with me, right?"
The appearance of Omni King in the episode promo also raised speculations that an allegiance between him and Son Goku may be formed to defeat Black. On the other hand, users at a separate forum at Reddit are expecting Trunks will be able to get a lot of character development in the next episode.
