Lee Hong Ki, the main vocalist for the popular South Korean band FT Island, has been rushed to the hospital following a hectic three-week work schedule filled with rehearsals, performances and group promotions.

The FT Island band member was taken to the hospital after making a quick appearance at the group's fan meeting held on Sunday, Aug. 7. Lee was said to be suffering from exhaustion given his busy work schedule, Soompi reported. The South Korean group has been promoting their latest album titled "Where's the Truth?" that debuted on July 18.

FT Island has been appearing in various TV programs since the release of their sixth album to showcase their new songs. The band was said to have filmed their last performance for the SBS music show "Inkigayo" and even held a special fan event for their loyal followers on the said day. However, Lee was unable to finish the fan meeting due to his health condition.

After greeting the fans during the event, the singer and songwriter was sent to the hospital due to severe fatigue. Apart from band activities and performances, Lee has also been busy preparing for his upcoming role in the musical "The Days."

A representative from FNC Entertainment stated that Lee's health condition has been affected given the accumulated stress over the past weeks, as indicated in the same report. The singer and his fellow band members have been performing live since the album's release. He has also continued to sing during rehearsal sessions for "The Days."

The same report also captured Lee's latest Instagram message posted on Monday, Aug. 8, where he shared a quick update on his health condition. He mentioned that he was going to "disappear" and rest "for a little bit." The singer even joked that he will get mad if people will come looking for him during his rest period. He also applauded his fellow FT Island band members for the great work they did in the three weeks that they actively promoted the group's new album.

Meanwhile, the group's main vocalist has recently shared his thoughts on the strong rock vibe evident in the band's new songs. The musician, along with other FT Island members, appeared in the Aug. 5 episode of the show "Sketchbook" were Lee recounted the band's song writing process, allkpop reported.

Lee shared that the band was not planning to feature hard rock tracks on their new album. However, the group's latest songs eventually became "heavier" as they continued to work on the songs. "It sounded awesome so we decided to stick with it," he said.
