"Fifty Shades Darker" star Jamie Dornan recently talked about the two directors who have worked on the three films. Sam Taylor-Johnson directed "Fifty Shades of Grey," while James Foley directed "Fifty Shades Darker" and "Fifty Shades Freed."
While speaking with The Hollywood Reporter, Dornan said that being part of the "Fifty Shades" franchise has been a great experience for him. He also said that there was more pressure when he worked with Taylor-Johnson in "Fifty Shades of Grey" because it was the first film and it need to be good.
"It's been great. We just finished two and three back-to-back, so I'm finished now. James Foley - he's a very different energy to director Sam Taylor-Johnson. The whole experience was actually quite different. A lot of the pressure of the first movie was gone. Essentially I feel like all of that pressure when you're making the first of a franchise of movies based on books that mean so much to people that has so much attention on it, it can be quite paralyzing I think. I think a lot of that creeped in the first time around and it maybe affects the work," he said.
Meanwhile, Dornan admitted that he has become more relaxed while filming his scenes as Christian Grey in the sequels.
"But this time, I know because the movie's made a lot of money, everyone's relaxed a bit so there wasn't that pressure to set the tone for the movies so I felt a little more freedom this time and it probably made it more enjoyable," he said.
"Fifty Shades Darker" and "Fifty Shades Freed" will be released on Feb. 10, 2017 and Feb. 9, 2018.
In other news, Dornan also opened up about his newly-released film "Anthropoid" where he plays the role of one of two Czech operatives who were tasked to assassinate Reinhard Heydrich, the leader of the Nazi forces in Czechoslovakia.
Dornan said that he's very happy to be part of a film that was inspired by true events. "You're in a very nice position as an actor when you're portraying a piece of history that actually happened and portraying characters that actually existed."
