"Arrow" Season 5 will see Oliver Queen/ Green Arrow (Stephen Amell) questioning his legacy as the mayor and as Green Arrow. New enemies will invade to ruin the Star City, but a new group of vigilantes is coming to help the Arrow team defend the city.

Queen/ Arrow and Felicity Smoak (Emily Bett Rickards) were left guarding the city following Thea Queen (Willa Holland) and John Diggle (David Ramsey) demise in the Season 4 finale. However, new four masked heroes are coming to the rescue in "Arrow" Season 5, marking the biggest battle in the network's television history.

"I can say it looks amazing," Showrunner Wendy Mericle told TV Line. "We're now part of this [TV] universe where you have "Game of Thrones" and the way that they deal with violence and how they do their fights, so it's our attempt to do something similar. It's bloody."

When it comes to the bloody fight scene in "Arrow" Season 5, Amell proved that the fights were really intense when he shared his photo on Facebook with swollen, bloody nose. It seemed that the actor was kicked on his nose during the filming of the new season.

Talking on the TCA press tour on Aug. 11, Thursday, Mericle confirmed the addition of new cast Dolph Lundgren. The actor will be appearing in flashbacks in "Arrow" Season 5, which was set in Russia. Lundgren, known for his marked roles in "Rocky IV," "The Expendables," "Masters of the Universe" and "The Punisher," will portray a villain role.

Lundgren will be seen in three episodes where he has a one-on-one battle with Queen. The co-creator teased that fans should not miss their match, which is considered "one for the ages."

Speaking of flashbacks, "Arrow" Season 5 will mark the end of Queen's flashback transformation. Producer Marc Guggenheim cleared that after Season 5, the upcoming episodes will not anymore feature flashbacks. However, he admitted that the flashbacks were crucial for the series to move on for another season.

Guggenheim told IGN that Season 6 will see some flashforwards and flashbacks from various characters such as Echo Kellum's Curtis. The previous seasons saw the flashbacks of the main characters, including Queen, Diggle and Felicity. The non-island flashbacks, however, will remain as a significant part of the show's storytelling.

"Arrow" Season 5 returns on Oct. 5. Check out the first look of the next season's official trailer:
