This year's zombie apocalypse thriller film, "Train To Busan," continue to make great wavelengths in the film industry. The film's lead star, Gong Yoo, 37, nabbed the number one spot for brand power among Korean actors in the month of August.

21 top-CF actors were examined by the Korean Business Research Institute in view of the 76,521,377 pieces of data from July 11 to Aug. 12, Soompi reported. The results of the Korean actors who are regarded the most are based on the brand notoriety index, media coverage, communication, and community.

The "Coffee Prince" actor came in first place with a total score of 7,718,734 for his brand reputation. Following him is Ha Jung Woo and "Descendants of the Star" actor in the second and third place, respectively.

A representative from the Korean Business Research Institute clarified that there were huge changes in brand power rankings because of the achievement of the "Train To Busan" film, which stars Gong, Jung Yu-Mi, and Ma Dong-Seok.

The film, which had its premiere in the Midnight Screenings section at this year's Cannes Film Festival on May 13, set a record as the first Korean film to break the audience record with more than 10 million theatergoers. Directed by Yeon Sang-Ho, "Train To Busan" grossed $77,961,998 million around the world.

"Even imagining reaching 10 million is terrifying," Naver TV quoted Gong Yoo as saying before a group of local reporters. "I would be happy with five million. Even five million would be my highest score ever."

As for the "Assassination" actor, it is said that Ha climbed from third to second place due to his new action-thriller film, "Tunnel." The film, which was released on Aug. 10, Wednesday, ruled the Korean box office during the week ending Aug. 14, Sunday, by pulling in more than 2,580,561 won ($2,348).

Helmed Kim Seong-Hoon, "Tunnel" follows a man, Jung-Soo (Ha), who is struggling to survive under the debris of a broken tunnel. It is based on the novel at the same time by author So Jae-Won.

Other actors who made the rankings for August include "Terminator Genisys" star Lee Byung-Hun, "My Dictator" actor Park Hae Il, "The Wailing" actor Hwang Jung Min, "Triple" actor Lee Jung Jae, "Descendants of the Sun" actress Song Hye Kyo, "My Love from the Star" Kim Soo Hyun and "The Greatest Love" actor Cha Seung-Won, among others.
