Girls Generation Tiffany has been facing a difficult time following the singer's recent controversial social media posts. The latest news has indicated that the Korean celebrity may have been dropped as the representative for a cosmetic brand.

The Girls Generation group member has been the brand ambassador of the cosmetic line IPKN since 2013. The said Instagram post has led to speculations that the Korean singer may have been replaced given her social media controversy. Although the rumors were recently clarified by an IPKN representative who commented that their decision to change brand ambassadors was not related to Tiffany's controversial posts. The said representative also shared that the Girls Generation singer's endorsement contract with IPKN has already expired.

It appears that the cosmetic brand has already started its search for a new brand model prior to Tiffany's controversy, as indicated in the same report. The IPKN representative mentioned that the company concluded its search in July and has even filmed photo shoots with the cosmetic brand's new ambassador.

The Korean singer has been under fire following a series of social media posts made on Snapchat and Instagram. Tiffany uploaded two pictures during Korea's National Liberation Day held on Monday, Aug. 15, where she used emoticons and images that showed Japan's iconic symbol of a rising sun. The said day marked the country's celebration of being freed from Imperial Japanese rule.

Netizens and critics slammed the Girls Generation group member for her use the Japanese linked emoticons and images during an important national event. Although Tiffany has already issued an apology message, the singer continues to get criticisms from the public.

In other news, Tiffany's fellow Girls Generation group members have all remained silent on social media, allkpop reported. Neither of the members has posted any message following Tiffany's controversy.
