John Wall could be a mid-season target for the Utah Jazz, with the team hoping to become legit contenders for an NBA title.

The Jazz could be one of the surprise teams this season after successfully adding key pieces to their roster this season. With the addition of veterans Joe Johnson, George Hill and Boris Diaw, the Jazz suddenly became a strong contender in the West.

However, they still lack another star who can provide them a better chance of competing for a title. According to Andrew Lynch of Fox Sports, one option the Jazz may consider is Washington Wizards star John Wall.

In Lynch's trade scenario that works on ESPN's trade machine, the Jazz receive Wall and Markieff Morris for Derrick Favors, George Hill and a 2018 first-round pick.

"The Jazz are going to surprise people as it is this season, and upgrading at point guard could help Utah put a scare into the Warriors in a potential second-round playoff matchup," Lynch wrote.

Wall and backcourt partner Bradley Beal discussed about their apparently conflicted relationship in interviews with CSN Mid-Atlantic, sparking speculations over the former's possible exit in Washington.

While Wall has already cleared up the air over how he feels about Beal's five-year $128 million contract with the Wizards, plenty of things could still happen once the season starts.

Wall would be a huge upgrade at the point guard position, averaging 19.9 points and 10.2 assists per game for the Wizards last season. With a lineup consisting of Gordon Hayward and Rudy Gobert, two potential All-Stars, adding Wall could see the Jazz emerge atop the league power rankings.

However, it is highly unlikely the Wizards give up Wall, especially without a proven star in return. Moreover, Scott Brooks arrival as new head coach of Washington should be a no-brainer for the Wizards to keep Wall for a couple more years.

Likewise, the Jazz have already formed a promising lineup, so there isn't much need for a change unless their new-look roster does not gel well.

Nevertheless, the Wizards and Jazz could be a team to watch before the trade deadline if they underperform at the first half of the season.
