"America's Got Talent" (AGT) Season 11 (2016) Semifinals-Part 1 are coming live from Dolby Theatre in Hollywood. Meanwhile, Simon Cowell, Heidi Klum, Howie Mandel and Mel B returned to the judges' panel.
Fans must note that out of 11 acts performing tonight only, five will move to "America's Got Talent" (AGT) Season 11 (2016) finale. The show kicked off with a performance by Dunkin Save contestant Sal Valentinetti, a jazz singer, who performed a rendition of "That's Life" by Frank Sinatra. The judges' loved his performance.
Performing next is Blake Vogt, the magician. Blake performs a trick with play cards. Judges had mixed reviews. Heidi says bigger is not always better, but she loved close-up magic. Simon is very impressed.
Edgar, the family band, took the stage to perform next. They are performing a cover of "Bless the Broken Road" by Rascall Flatts. Simon says they are perfect as a group. Mel B and others loved their performance too.
Lori Mae Hernandez, another Dunkin Save semifinalist, is performing next. She is a comedian and she cracked Olympic jokes. Simon thinks it's her best so far. Howie thinks there is still room for improvement.
Musicality is performing next. They did a rendition of "Born This Way" by Lady Gaga. Howie says that they were inspiring.
Next up were Deadly Games, a danger act. The husband and wife duo are performing some dangerous stunt wherein the wife is holding roses in her hands while the husband used the whip to drop them. Following which, they did another stunt wherein the wife is standing on the wall, holding a paper blocking her and then he flings knives at her. The judges were quite impressed hoping they reach the finale.
The next performance of "America's Got Talent" (AGT) Season 11 (2016) Semifinals Week 1 is delivered by Tape Face. Howie finds their act very funny and Simon thinks he has the ability to do something stupid.
Jon Dorenbos, the former NFL Player and a magician, is performing next. He involves all the judges in his trick involving throw and snap. Each judge snaps or throws a ball at a map of the United States. Each state has been given a number. When judges are done snapping and throwing, Howie opens a chest where he finds money. The money has states on the back matching the ones judges' hit. The judges are left in an awe. They think he is amazing.
Next up is the highly anticipated performance of the night. The 12-year-old singer Grace Vanderwaal sings another original song. Mel B. thinks she is a superstar already. And Heidi said that she will be one of the final two artists in the finale.
Malvevo, the Latin Dance troupe, performing next. The judges loved their performance and urge America to vote for them.
The final act of "America's Got Talent" (AGT) Season 11 (2016) Semifinals Night 1 is delivered by Laura Bretan, the 14-year-old Opera Singer. She performs "Pie Jesu." Simon thinks it was her best performance and said she was perfect with her notes tonight.
