A record of £1.165bn was achieved during this summer's transfer window as the English Premier League clubs spent more than £155m on the deadline day.

Thirteen teams in the top flight broke their own transfer record this is due to the television deal worth £5.1bn which came to effect on the 2016/2017 season, BBC reported.

According to The Guardian, Everton had to console themselves with Enner Valencia as Moussa Sissoko snobbed them for Tottenham Hotspurs.
