Despite still in Steam Early Access, "Ark Survival Evolved" is now getting its first paid DLC dubbed Scorched Earth which has enraged most of its fans playing the game.

Ark Survival Evolved Scorched Earth DLC puts players away from the lush greens and into a barren wasteland with new monsters and weapons to discover. The loot players get from the new land can be brought back to the game's original base.

Those who have the game on Steam Early Access will be able to explore the seven new desert themed biomes in the Ark Survival Evolved Scorched Eart DLC, Mobipicker has learned. The new DLC will allow players to create 50 new items from all the loot that they get or currently have.

Another interesting feature is the capability of players to generate energy using the wind turbines in the Scorched Earth DLC. Oil Refineries and water wells will also be present in the Ark Survival Evolved DLC along with other features such as herding dinosaurs into areas that the players want.

While the new influx of content may be good news for some, others have been angered by the decision to charge for the DLC even though the game itself has not even been finished yet in the first place. Ark Survival Evolved players feel that the resources used in the Scorched Earth DLC could have been used to fix the glaring problems and speed up the development of the game instead, Kotaku reported.

"Wow way to release paid DLC before getting the game out of Early Access. Seriously What is going through you heads? How's DirectX12 and the TrueSky fix coming that have been sitting on your to do list since the game came out on Early Access?" one user named Synthetic posted on the Steam review page for Ark Survival Evolved.

Ark Survival Evolved is still in Early Access and there is no release date yet for the finished version of the game. The $20 Scorched Earth DLC seemed to have angered many of its players as the development of the game could have been improved instead of trying to cash in on the early success of the title.
