Even as George R.R. Martin and his publisher are not confirming anything, rumors of an imminent "Winds of Winter" release date have been fired up by two fresh indicators - the International Standard Book Number or ISBN for the sixth installment of the "Song of Ice and Fire" saga has been registered and Amazon placeholder for the book's 2016 arrival already exists.
In a report, Digital Spy suggested that it could be that GRRM has finally wrapped up work on the Winds of Winter as the blog story pointed to a Reddit post that claimed the discovery of a newly registered ISBN for WoW. The new detail seemed to support that the volume Martin has been laboring on for years is now a complete piece.
Winds of Winter will be the source of "Game of Thrones" Season 7 that according to showrunners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss HBO will resume airing May or June 2017. With the ISBN revealed, is the finished book for real.
But as mentioned above, GRMM is not saying anything on the matter. In the past months, the author has allowed a peek on the progress of his work so far by revealing portions of completed chapters. However, Martin made clear that Winds of Winters finally done will be known though his personal blog and the site is not carrying anything on the subject.
And according to Digital Spy, "HarperCollins reportedly registered an ISBN number thought to be the new book over a year ago," adding that fans will certainly count a few more months before the wait is over and Winds of Winter is at last published.
Yet the wait time will likely end by early March next year, specifically the 9th of the month, that is if a newly discovered product page on Amazon France is to be believed. The page, per the report by GoT fan site WinterIsComing.net, claims that Winds of Winter will come out March 9 and reader to ship for around nine euros.
The report, however, was quick to clarify that what was put up is a placeholder for Winds of Winter, which GRRM has assured will surely be on the shelves by early 2017. But Winter Is Coming said that March 9 outing of Martin's book makes as the title is expected this time to be issued ahead of the seventh GoT season.
While Game of Thrones Season 6 was rumored to contain substantial amount of Winds of Winter spoilers, GRRM has teased that the book will still be full of surprises. Rumors have it that the upcoming chapter of Song of Ice and Fire will reveal fresh story arcs on Jon Snow and Daenerys Targaryen - their respective backstories and the likelihood of the two lives intersecting and even colliding. Speculations are rife as well that the Khaleesi will follow the Targaryen path after her successful conquest of Westeros and become the Mad Queen.
