In addition to the playable demo, Capcom also revealed several photos of the new characters in "Resident Evil 7" courtesy of CEDEC 2016 (via IGN Japan). The images of the characters includes a blonde woman, a clean hair cut man and another mane with long mallet cut.

It is unknown yet what their names are, but an alleged leaked ESRB description revealed that "Resident Evil 7"s protagonist is named Ethan, who is looking for his wife in an abandoned mansion, who soon discovers that the house has unspeakable horrors inside. The gamers as Ethan, will use a variety of weapons such as handguns, shotguns, explosives, flamethrowers and a even a chainsaw to fight off mutant monsters. As the gamers progress, the cut-scenes in "Resident Evil 7" will depict heavy violence and gore as players will see severed hands, legs, exposed guts, corpses and even getting impaled by a shovel.

Game producer Masachika Kawata stated that combat is still present, but it will not be as action-packed as the previous "Resident Evil" titles. Capcom will be developing the combat system one step at a time.

Capcom added that they wanted a hero who is somewhat weak, scared and inexperience compared to the more battle hardened heroes in the "Resident Evil" series.

In other news, it seems that "Resident Evil 7" will feature a new zombie type enemy as Capcom explained that "zombie-like" for them is a little vague, but gaming fans will see something that resembles the monsters from the past "Resident Evil" titles.

Gaming fans speculated that the developers are referring to enemies similar to the Los Ganados or Maijini from "Resident Evil 4" and "Resident Evil 5", as opposed to the classic, slow-moving zombies from the original games. Capcom added that aside from zombie, other humanoid looking monsters will be present in "Resident Evil 7" such as the Tyrant, Gamerant reported.

Previous reports revealed that voice actor Matt Mercer will not return as Leon S. Kennedy in "Resident Evil 7", stating that Capcom is "scaling back" for cameos from classic "Resident Evil" characters, however, Mercer has suggested that Capcom has good reason for that as they want to ensure that the sequel acts very much as its own game.

"Resident Evil 7" will launch on Jan. 14, 2017 for the PS4, PS VR, Xbox One and PC platforms.
