Everton opened the season with a 1-1 draw on the road with last season's third-place squad Tottenham Hotspur. Since then, the team is on a three-game winning streak and it seems like new head coach Ronald Koeman's side is just beginning to show their best form this term.

Their most recent match was a 3-0 thrashing of lowly squad Sunderland AFC at the Stadium of Light on Monday, SkySports reported.

Highly sought-after Belgian striker Romelu Lukaku was the man of the match as he went berserk in the second half and unleashed a hat trick at the 60th, 68th, and 71st.

The hosts just have no answer for the Chelsea and Manchester United target as he found the back of 22-year-old goalkeeper Jordan Pickford's net three times in a span of about 11 minutes.

Meanwhile, Middlesbrough was nipped by middling team Crystal Palace, 1-2, in their game last Saturday at their home turf of Riverside Stadium, as per Daily Mail Online.

Newly-acquired striker Christian Benteke opened the scoring at the 16th minute for Palace, but Boro defender Daniel Ayala was able to level the count at the 38th to give his side a chance to score their second win this season.

However, midfielder Wilfried Zaha netted a goal two minutes after the restart, which proved to be the winner as both clubs did not score since then.

The defeat snapped the three-game unbeaten run of head coach Aitor Karanka's boys as they are now at risk of losing two straight games as they face a highly-motivated Toffees side this weekend.
