"Fifty Shades Darker" just dropped a new teaser starring Christian Grey (Jamie Dornan) and Anastasia Steele (Dakota Johnson).

The clip opened with beautiful fireworks and the words "This Valentine's Day, forget the past and slip into something a shade darker." The next scene showed Christian and Anastasia preparing for the masquerade ball. The onscreen couple looked stunning in their respective attire and masks.

Meanwhile, the clip also gave some insights into Christian and Anastasia's breakup. While at home, the latter opened the door to find white roses being delivered for her. By the looks of it, Anastasia is very much discouraged that her relationship with Christian will work. "I don't see how this will work," she said. However, Anastasia and Christian bumped into each other while at the gallery. "Are you just gonna stand there gawking?" she asked him. "Yes," he answered.

Towards the end of the clip, Anastasia told Christian that their relationship is so much more different now because they are no longer punishing each other. They are also trying their best not to keep any secrets for one another.

According to Variety, "Fifty Shades Darker" is based on the 2012 books written by E.L. James. The film is directed by James Foley and the script for the movie was written by James' husband Niall Leonard. Some of the other cast members that will be part of the "Fifty Shades of Grey" sequel include Hugh Dancy, Eric Johnson, Jennifer Ehle, Rita Ora, Luke Grimes, Kim Basinger, Marcia Gay Harden and more.

"Fifty Shades Darker" is slated to hit theaters in the United States on Feb. 10, 2017. A year later, Universal Pictures will release the third and final film in the trilogy, "Fifty Shades Freed" on Feb. 9, 2018.
